Come and learn the Voices in the Orchestra!  Voices in the Orchestra is a program for school age children ages 5 and up and their caregivers, which include parents , grandparents, guardians and informal caregivers, to explore the different sounds the instruments make in the orchestra and how they can help bring stories to life.  This three session program introduces the children to the various voices in the orchestra (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, and keyboard sections)  and stories  that use orchestral music to bring characters to life.  The first session the children will learn about the orchestra in general, session 2 includes listening to a recording of Make Way for Ducklings narrated by the late Senator Ted Kennedy and  backed by the Boston Landmark orchestra.  In session 3 the children will watch a piece of the movie Fantasia and be challenged to identify the instruments that they hear in the movie.  The children will strengthen their listening skills as well as their knowledge of music through participation in this program.  If you cannot attend all three session choose the one that means most to you!
