Kindergarten, Here I Come!!

All children registering must be going to Kindergarten in the Fall 2019. The focus promotes kindergarten readiness skills.  The children will participate in circle time as we sing about the months of the year, go over the seasons and letter sounds, read a story, and so much more.

*While CFCE is very open to having siblings at most of our activities, this particular activity is curriculum based and focuses on promoting kindergarten readiness skills. Parents are encouraged to engage in these practices with their “Kindergartner” while in the classroom.  It can be distracting if siblings are present.  While we would not exclude any family from bringing siblings, we encourage parents to seek alternate childcare for the younger siblings if  possible. We understand this may not be an option.  Our main focus is to provide your “Kindergartner” with the most environmentally rich, developmentally appropriate, pleasant and worthwhile experience we can.

CANCELLED TODAY-(Full) Monday Playgroup at 11:00 (Ages: 1-4)

This playgroup provides a social experience for parents and young children.  Parents have an opportunity to spend quality time with their child while sharing the joys/struggles of parenting with peers.  Young children have an opportunity to develop school readiness skills (sharing, taking turns, circle time, craft time, etc.) in the presence of their parent who is available to provide support and encouragement. Facilitated by Leslie Reilly, CFCE Specialist, who will provide group structure, respond to requests for parenting information and community resources, and model appropriate parent/child interaction.

This playgroup meets weekly for 7 weeks with the same families attending each session.  Meeting weekly for multiple weeks provides parents an opportunity to build connections with each other that will extend beyond playgroup and enhance the child’s confidence for Kindergarten and beyond.

Each playgroup last for 1 hour.  Playgroup includes free play, circle time, and an age-appropriate craft.  Parent/caregiver stay with their child throughout the playgroup.
